How to Unlock Your iPhone Using Just Your Voice
Apple adds an accessibility feature that enables voice-only iPhone unlocking with iOS 14.6 and later. To find out how it functions and how to set it up on your iPhone, keep reading.
Voice control has been a feature of Apple's iOS mobile operating system for a number of years, allowing users to operate a number of system settings on their iPhone just using their voice as the trigger.
Up until recently, Voice Control had the drawback of not functioning if your iPhone was locked. However, Apple has improved the capability in iOS 14.6 and later such that you may now use your voice to input the passcode and unlock your iPhone even if it is on the lock screen.
How to Unlock Your iPhone Using Voice Control
You may set up Voice Control to unlock your iPhone with a straightforward spoken command by following the instructions below.
- Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap Accessibility.
- Under "Physical and Motor," tap Voice Control.
- Toggle on the switch next to Voice Control.
- Now lock your iPhone using the Side button.
- Tap your iPhone to bring up the Lock Screen, then say "Go Home" to use Face ID to unlock it. If it doesn't work and the passcode screen appears, speak (for instance, "Tap 1") to speak-activate the 1 key on the screen. To unlock your iPhone, repeat this process for each of the six digits in your passcode.
All there is to it is that. It should be noted that iPad users may use the same Voice Control accessibility function.
