AirPods Pro 2: How to Disable Volume Swipe Gestures

Apple's well-known premium earbuds now have a new Touch control mechanism thanks to the release of the AirPods Pro 2. The Touch sensors respond to swipes up and down the stem that boost or decrease the loudness of whatever you're listening to in addition to being utilized to play/pause audio and skip songs.

Apple admits that the swipe movements used to change the level may not be appealing to everyone, and some users of AirPods Pro may find it challenging to utilize them as intended. Because of this, Apple has incorporated an accessibility feature to disable motions in iOS 16.1. Here's how to turn them off.

  1. With ‌AirPods Pro‌ connected, launch the Settings app on your iPhone running iOS 16.1.
  2. Tap the AirPods Pro tab just under your Apple ID banner.
  3. Scroll down, then tap Accessibility.
  4. Scroll down again, then under "Volume Control," toggle off the switch next to Volume Swipe.

Your AirPods Pro's Touch controls' swipe sensitivity will be immediately turned off and stop responding to the gesture. You only need to toggle the setting back on in Settings to allow volume swipes once more.
