Disgaea's eccentric characters, talking penguins who address you as "dood," and turn-based combat are used to pack an astounding amount of complexity into this mobile version, in addition to the expected gacha mechanisms.
It assumes a working familiarity of characters from every game in the series with little to no introduction and a complex, hilarious, and purposefully absurd plot. Turn-based battles with absurdly high level caps and a large list of opponents are the main attraction, though.
In particular for fans of the series, it's a good time waster that doesn't necessarily require investment of real money if you're up for a long grind. Daily login bonuses, auto-battle, and the usual solecisms of free-to-play gaming can't crush its anarchic spirit.
