Asphalt Xtreme
iOS & Android, Free for Netflix subscribers (Netflix)
Asphalt Xtreme, a free-to-play game that was first released in 2016, has been purchased by Netflix and re-issued as an Apple Arcade-style game, but only if you have a Netflix subscription.
It's strange that it's called Asphalt since the focus is mainly on dirt tracks. Using four thoughtfully designed control schemes that are all compatible with touchscreens, your rally cars handle with a perfectly calculated arcade-style predictability that still manages to be really exciting.
The single-player mode is fantastic, but multiplayer is still about who has the better car, which restricts how playable it is. Given Netflix's massive reach, it will be intriguing to watch where they take their budding game service in the future.
Available exclusively for Netflix members.
