Similar to other games in the Faily series, Faily Brakes Classic involves driving down a hill while dodging hazards and collecting cash and power-ups. Your driver will be flung from the car like a rag doll if you hit a rock or tree.
There is only one track, and although you can equip your driver with new cars and clothing, all options are purely aesthetic. As a result, every run is identical in terms of functionality other than the randomly rearranged obstacles.
Its almost ludicrous simplicity and constantly random-feeling failures make it appear more like a proof of concept than a paid-for game, despite the fact that the gameplay loop still manages to be mildly engaging.
